Hiring a trader
How do i go about hiring the right tradesperson for the job?
We believe in vetting all our online tradespeople on their trade membership application, so only successful applicants are listed on our directory, meaning we only show the best of the best out there, to even go a step further customers like yourself get to review the job afterwards once complete, where you can also view profiles with previous ratings and feedback given from various customers.
Will i be charged any call out fee's?
It entirely depends on whether the registered company has stated during contact a call out charge is applicable or not. If in doubt please ask the question when organising a visit, as all tradesmen have their own separate policies.
How can i contact a tradesperson?
When enquiring to a specific business, we provide alternative methods of communication either by telephone or email, but we would recommend contact by telephone as emails can be slow and sometimes unreliable due to emails ending up in a spam inbox.
Is HireTrades.UK an agency or employer?
No we are neither! we only operate as a platform to host different trade's to the wider public through our specialised search algorithm, so they can promote and expand each of their business potential online.
What does HireTrades.UK do to ensure tradesmen are qualified for jobs such as gas and electrical work?
When signing up to HireTrades.UK as a business who undertakes gas and electrical works we require up to date copies of certification documents to prove they are actually qualified for the job. For gas engineers we ask for them to hold a current Gas Safe Registration certificate.

For electrician’s we require proof of qualifications such as Part P and 17th edition compliance and be an associated member of NICEIC or similar governing body which keeps homeowners safe from unwanted bad electrical works.
